Fall Golf in Incline Village: Both Courses After Labor Day

If you live for golf in Incline Village, you already know the season does not end at Labor Day. It changes character. The visitors thin out after the holiday weekend, the tee sheet loosens, and both IVGID courses settle into the stretch locals quietly consider the best golf of the year. The clubhouse at 955 Fairway Blvd sits a few hundred yards from Country Club Drive, but by the middle of September the course feels unhurried, almost private.

You have about six weeks. The Championship Course closes for the 2026 season on October 18. The Mountain Course closes a week earlier, on October 11. Here is what stays open, what winds down, and how the fall rounds differ from the summer ones.

Green fees drop at the Championship Course starting September 8

IVGID is running a cart path replacement project on the Championship Course from September 8 through October 18, and green fees are discounted for the duration. Pricing depends on how many holes are available on a given day, so call the golf shop rather than assuming a rate off the website. For anyone who has looked at a peak summer green fee at this course and flinched, this is the window.

The Mountain Course is the shoulder season sleeper

The Mountain Course is the second of the two IVGID courses and the one visitors tend to overlook. Eighteen holes at par 58, the highest elevation golf course in Nevada and the Tahoe Basin, and short enough that a full round fits into an afternoon rather than consuming one. Nine-hole play is available, which matters more in October when the light goes early.

There is no driving range at 690 Wilson Way. The range lives at the Championship Course, and the Mountain Course offers a large practice green for chipping and putting instead. The Mountain Snack Bar handles grab and go breakfast, lunch, snacks, beer, wine, and cocktails, with a deck and indoor seating. The beverage cart is a summer amenity and runs weekends only, mid-June through mid-September, so plan on the snack bar after that.

Remember the earlier closing date. October 11 for the Mountain Course, a week ahead of the Championship Course, so if you want a last round up there you are working with a narrower window than you think.

The club events are a summer season, and that season is over

Part of what makes the fall feel different is that the social calendar has already run its course. The events that define a Mountain Course summer are seasonal by design:

•      Nine & Wine runs select Thursday evenings, June through August, at the Mountain Course. A casual nine-hole scramble followed by a wine tasting with paired appetizers on the deck. Reservations required, and it is done for 2026.

•      The Mountain Niners, the women’s club founded in 2009, play nine holes two to three times a week at the Mountain Course on a June through September season.

•      Local clubs including Tahoe Incline Golf Club and the Incline Village Teesters carry their own event calendars through the season.

If your summer runs on those Thursday evenings, mark the calendar now for next June. What replaces them after Labor Day is the golf itself, without the wait.

The Grille at The Chateau stays open through mid October

The Grille at The Chateau, located on the Championship Course runs through the end of the golf season, with lunch, dinner, and a daily happy hour. It is one of the few places in the village where the fall slowdown works in your favor. A table that took planning in July is available on a Tuesday in October.

The practice facility and the golf shop stay open

The practice facility at the Championship Course, which is the driving range with hitting mats plus the chipping and putting greens, stays open through the season. Range tickets are sold beginning thirty minutes before the first tee time and continue until the golf shop closes. The Golf Shop remains open as well, with the usual brands and custom club fitting, so this is a reasonable window to get fit for next season while the swing you built all summer is still intact.

Clinics keep running into September

The instruction calendar does not stop with the holiday weekend. The Ladies Chip and Sip clinic and the Wednesday Wedges short game sessions carry into September, and the Golf Academy continues private and semi private lessons through the season.

How to play the shoulder season

Daylight is the real constraint. The twilight window compresses week by week through September and October, so the late afternoon rounds that ran long in July need an earlier start by the end of the month. Mornings run cold at 6,300 feet this time of year, and the warm part of the day arrives later than it does in summer. Midday tee times are the sweet spot in October, which is the opposite of the summer pattern and one more reason the fall tee sheet feels so open.

Living on the courses

The Championship Course neighborhood is one of the more distinct pockets in Incline Village, and fall is when its appeal is easiest to see. Quieter streets, open fairways, and the practical reality that the course is a five minute walk rather than a drive.
