Summer in Incline Village and North Lake Tahoe isn’t just about the water — it’s about the music drifting across the pines, the sound of a guitar at golden hour, and impromptu dance floors with your toes in the sand. This season, the North Shore is overflowing with live music, from intimate wine bar sets to world-class orchestral performances. Here’s your complete guide to where the music is this summer — and yes, most of it is completely free.
If there’s one music event worth splurging on this summer, it’s Classical Tahoe. Now celebrating its 15th season, this acclaimed festival brings orchestral, jazz, and chamber music to the stunning Ricardi Pavilion right here in Incline Village — and the programming this year is exceptional.
The season opens July 11 with a Star-Spangled Soirée Summer Gala, followed by the Brubeck Jazz Summit (July 12–17) honoring the legacy of jazz legend Dave Brubeck. The orchestra then takes over through August 9, with highlights including Fire and Fantasy, Brahms’ First Symphony, and the intimate Ron & Maureen Ashley Oasis Chamber Music Series. There’s even a free community show — Chamber Connections on July 28.
Classical Tahoe is one of two ticketed series in this guide, and for good reason: the caliber of artists is extraordinary. Tickets and full schedule at classicaltahoe.org.
The Music Showcase series featuring world-class tributes and headliners, and the Reno Jazz Orchestra, at the Shakespeare Festival sells out fast — but locals know the secret. Call the box office and ask to be added to the cancellation list. Cancellations happen more often than you'd think, and you've got a real shot at snagging a ticket the day of the show.
The beloved Music on the Beach concert series is back — with a new home. Due to construction at Incline Beach, IVGID has moved the party next door to Ski Beach for 2026. Same great vibes, same beloved booker Mitch Harbaugh (who’s been curating this series for over a decade), and a brand-new Incline Surf Shack mobile food bar debuting this summer with tropical-inspired bites like the Hula Pig and Cow-Abunga.
The lineup spans Wednesdays and Fridays through early September, featuring local and regional favorites: Chuck & Steve, Glitter Bomb, Reckless Envy, Jennifer Grant, the Wes Orsolic Band, and more. Access is included with your IVGID Picture Pass or Recreation Punch Card (with beach access). Details at yourtahoeplace.com.
Thursday nights just got a lot better. Alibi Ale Works’ Tunes on Tap series — a partnership with Travel North Tahoe Nevada — returns to the outdoor Alibi Amphitheater at the Incline Public House for another summer of free live music under the stars.
Bring a blanket or low chair (seating is limited), grab a cold craft brew, and settle in for an evening of great music starting at 7pm. A word to the wise: bring a warm layer — Tahoe nights cool down fast. Minors are welcome; pups are not. Full lineup at alibialeworks.com.
For a more intimate evening, The Incline Lodge hosts live music in the lounge every Thursday from 6 to 8pm. Local favorite Shawn Campanini — a looping artist with a gift for reading a room — regularly takes the stage, covering a wide variety of music and taking requests. Pair it with a craft cocktail and you’ve got the perfect low-key Thursday night.
Glasses Wine Bar is one of Incline’s best-kept secrets, and their Glasses Live Stage makes it even better. Set in an intimate atmosphere with fine wines, craft cocktails, and draft beer, the stage features some of Lake Tahoe’s most talented performers on a regular basis. Friday nights are a staple — “Darin’s Back” is a crowd favorite — and the calendar fills up fast throughout the summer. Check their current lineup at glasseswinebar.com.
Sage Leaf has become a true gem of the Incline Village dining scene, and their Wednesday live music series is the perfect way to ease into the middle of the week. From 5 to 8pm, enjoy live music alongside Sage Leaf’s modern American menu — think fresh, seasonal cuisine with craft cocktails to match. It’s relaxed, it’s local, and it hits exactly the right note. More at sageleaftahoe.com.
Now in its 20th year, Kings Beach’s Music on the Beach series is a North Shore institution. Every Friday evening, families, locals, and visitors spread out on the sand at Kings Beach State Recreation Area for free live music spanning every genre — all with that unbeatable lake backdrop. Craft beer from Alibi Ale Works and wine from Truckee River Winery keep the crowd happy, and local food vendors are on-site from 6–9pm. Twenty years in, this one only gets better.
Bluesdays runs every Tuesday from June 30 through September 1, showcasing top blues artists from around the country at The Village, complete with an outdoor Blues Bar. It’s free, festive, and one of the best reasons to make the drive up to Olympic Valley on a weeknight.
SunSets drops on select Fridays throughout the summer — free live music in The Village as the alpenglow hits the peaks. Watch for their calendar for specific dates and artists at palisadestahoe.com.
Just down the shore, Commons Beach in Tahoe City hosts its beloved free concert series every Sunday afternoon through Labor Day weekend. Local, regional, and national performers take the stage in one of the most beautiful settings on the lake — right on the beach with a stunning Sierra backdrop. Free shuttle service runs throughout the day from Olympic Valley and West Shore neighborhoods. A perfect Sunday ritual for the whole family.
Save us a dance, won't ya?
